The Haitian people challenges us. These questions are not always easy to answer:
Do you think I need that United Nations troops and the USA invade me and "organize" as I solve my problems? Do you think I am an uncivilized, inferior, incapable of organizing the survival of my own children?
Why the "land of liberty" did not recognize me, or traded with me until 1865? Is it feared that my freedom was a "bad example" for their slaves? Did you know that the USA took 72 years more than we end slavery? Have you forgotten that even took a century to a black man could sit on the seat of the bus or attend the same school as a target? Who are the "civilized"? Who are the "primitive"?
Was not it a shame that France, the former colony, which our ancestors kidnapped from her home in Africa, which ran out and killed in long hours of work in sugar plantations, cocoa, coffee or indigo, we impose, at gunpoint, an indemnity of 150 million francs (equivalent to € 800,000,000)? Is not it a shame that our President Aristide demanded that we return that money stolen at gunpoint, France refused saying it would be "unbearable history?
Do you know that in 1915 the USA landed our national bank and moved their funds to New York? Were $ 500,000 at the time. Have never returned Do not you know that between then and 1934 they invaded our country, stole its wealth, imposing a puppet president that could not get in hotels and restaurants of the invaders because of their color? Did you know that during this invasion was a real genocide of peasants in 1919 coming to crucify one of their leaders, Charlemagne Peralte, the door of a church?
Do you know that the USA and France imposed upon us, between 1957 and 1986, the Duvalier dictatorship? Do not you know that the only reason that dictatorship was to contain the "bad example" of the Cuban revolution? You know what this dictatorship performed 30,000 murders, as well as torture and imprisonment for many others? Do you know that my country into debt so unbearable, to 1800 million dollars? You know I'm still paying that debt? And what the dictator Duvalier is comfortably in exile in France and living with a fortune estimated between 800 and 1400 million $ in a Swiss bank? Why the dictator has not been tried in any international tribunal for genocide against their people? Why Swiss banks not return the money that the dictator robbed me?
When I freed from dictatorship, I chose twice to Bertrand Aristide as president (1990 and 2001) Do you know that the USA twice ousted him from power by two separate coups (1991 and 2004)? Do not you think, now, that the presence of U.S. troops in my territory is a colonial invasion? Have not you thought that some
