Vittorio Lingiardi February 28
Dear Paul, I think of Pilin and intermittently as a monument to his memory.
In her countless memories and, as the memory will, of forgotten things. Since we are not
archive, and we can not distinguish with certainty what happened by the memory of what happened.
This discovery won him the Nobel Prize to Gerald Edelman, who revolutionized the theory of memory
stating that the recall is not a mere discovery of content stored in the warehouse of the mind, but it is a fiction, a mise en sens that
allows rewriting personal experience.
To each, therefore, its Pilin. Mine, in these verses of Emily Dickinson,
similar to a prayer that she held in the portfolio and that gave me, I think in 1984.
Water, is taught by thirst.
Land - by the Oceans passed.
Transport - by throe.
Peace - by its battles told -
Love, by memorial portrait -
birds, snow.
hug you, with you and Marcel, Ata, Barbara, Heather, Patrick
and all the great house of Pino Torinese, I had the good fortune to meet at the beginning of the twenty mei,
that marked me for well, and I always in me.
